Family History - Pliester

A quite uncommon name, the maiden name of my wife Christine.

If you come across any references to this surname I would like to hear about them. Pliester ties in with WEERSMA and DEUVORST. These names pop up in the Netherlands, New Zealand, Indonesia etc. Again, any information gratefully received. One of my relatives (in Holland) has done some work to research these names. I am in contact with a couple of Pliesters in USA and it seems that most are in what was formerly Prussia and is now Germany.
